Improving Rust APIs Integration with React-Admin | Glowing-Telegram Project - Episode 108
In this video, I dive into refining our workflow for handling Rust APIs and React-Admin in the Glowing-Telegram project. After a brief interruption from a crashing encoder, I re-added the playlist and walked through the current setup, identifying the key issues we’re facing, especially with API quotas and session expirations during uploads. To tackle these, I explored an alternative workflow involving manual video uploads to YouTube, which could bypass some API limitations. I also considered changes to our episode schema, discussing how to store media locations more generically and eliminate misleading fields like 'is published'. Additionally, I shared insights on exponential backoff strategies and status notifications to manage retries and paused tasks effectively. I wrapped up by addressing various technical challenges encountered during the stream and strategies for potential improvements, including ideas for a version two of our UI to better cater to these workflows. Towards the end, I fielded some questions about integrating AWS step functions for more robust task management and notification handling. Join me as we explore complex issues, troubleshoot live, and consider future enhancements for this ongoing project.
