Returning to the Womb of Grief, I clear two more spheres and have several more encounters with Alex. She is super dangerous, but not as dangerous as Frederik. Still don’t know what her problem is, but I get the impression that she is the protagonist of her own similarly grindy, unpleasant story. Even fights her own bosses!

So what's going on in the Womb of Grief? It seems to be some kind of demon prison whose plants slowly break down demons into raw materials. Many of the demons in it seem to be somehow projections or imitations of demons, rather than "native" demons. The bosses are, I think, the main prisoners. So far, the bosses have not of consistent alignments or themes. The first two are both fertility goddesses, Anahita and Ishtar, but the two in this video, Amon and Forneus, are high-ranking figures from Hell, presumably Lucifer's kingdom. I would, at this point, think that the Womb of Grief is some kind of prison constructed by the Law faction, but, spoilers, the final prisoner is the Virgin Mary! So maybe the Womb of Grief is more like a naturally-occurring structure that several demons happened to get trapped inside because they attained pieces of the Cosmic Fruit?
