**As this is a BIG FMV title.. There is NO dialogue from me in this playthrough as it is required for you to hear everything going on in the game.. There is also occasional dialogue skips in the videos likely due to streaming as I've never encountered it when playing it regularly**

"In The 1st Degree" is an FMV court room drama/adventure game created by Brøderbund Software and San Francisco Production Company Adair & Armstrong in 1995 using a script written by former San Francisco Assistant D.A. Al Giannini..

The game tells the story of Sterling Granger (The player's character) who is Lead Prosecutor on an upcoming court case involving a murder of a famous business partner (Zachary Barnes) of renowned San Franciscan painter James Henry Tobin.. As Granger it is up to you to sift through all the evidence, question all the witnesses, and get to the bottom of this murder and who exactly is guilty of MURDER ... IN THE 1ST DEGREE.

Lets see if we can solve this case! ;)

**FUN FACTS**

-- Maureen McVerry who plays the role of Inspector Looper in this game is best known for her role(s) in King's Quest VII: The Princeless Bride as the voice of Princess Rosella as well as several other characters in the game .. and for her myriads of guest appearances on the 90s sitcom TV series Full House.

-- The game used court shots from the San Francisco City Hall Courthouse and composited the actors/actresses into the shot via blue screen technology.

-- Frank Somerville and Laura Zimmerman who played themselves in the game (News reporter and anchor) are actual reporters/anchors for the KTVU News Station in San Francisco having worked there from 1993 to 1998.. The 5 'O Clock News station in the game may be fake.. but the reporter and news anchor are not.

-- The game had a massive budget at the time and was universally praised for its originality and accessibility by multiple PC game publications such as IGN, GameSpot and Computer Game Review and won second place in FMV Game Of The Year (Only being beaten by Sierra's Phantasmagoria)
