In Top Gun: Maverick, a MOP Armed B-2 Bomber would Be Enough To Do The Job #shorts
The US Navy's Top Gun Maverick mission was to destroy a uranium enrichment facility that was being guarded by SA-3 SAMs, GPS jammers, and Su-57 stealth aircraft. But was there any other aircraft other than the F/A-18 Super Hornet that could complete the task? Yes, indeed! In reality, a B-2 stealth bomber would probably be able to complete the mission with one of the bombs called the Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP. It's a precision-guided "bunker buster" that is intended to demolish heavily fortified, deep underground structures made of steel and cement. The USAF can take out the world's toughest bunkers because of this weapon, and the B-2's ability to infiltrate far into hostile terrain. This is the weapon that will be employed in the initial moments of an aerial campaign in nations like Iran or North Korea. But wait, the MOP is GPS-guided, and the enemy in Top Gun Maverick is jamming GPS, therefore, it won't work, right? No matter what the adversary does to jam the B-2, it can still place a MOP on target. Smart bomb technology has backup navigational systems. Two F/A-18 Super Hornets would not have been lost if they had used B-2s.
