I love a good Scumm game. The warm feeling you get from the nostalgia of these classic LucasArts point and clicks isn't one that you get with all retro games, and each time they're booted up I get a piece of my childhood back. I played Last Crusade as a preteen and remember FOA being plastered over many magazines - but for whatever reason I didn't pursue it at the time - so when it won the discord choice I was excited to live it for the first time.

FOA builds upon Last Crusade well - the story wouldn't have been an awful idea for a movie, with our hero racing to reach the fabled technologically advanced utopia, Atlantis (hence the title). If he doesn't reach it before the Nazis then the entire world's population is threatened by tyrannical rule and slavery. The dialogue is Indy-to-the-core, with the perfect balance of deadpan humour, and serious when it needs to be. The action and world exploration is there - and although the solutions may be stupid sometimes, the puzzles will put your brain into gear. There is replayability too, with three routes to take through the game - you can take the thinking man's path, progress with your fists or work as a team with your love interest - the psychic, Sophia.

The game isn't without it's flaws - the number pad combat is godawful (but at least you can skip it this time), and the late game is an absolute slog at points. With that said, I'd sooner play this again than watch Crystal Skull on it's best day.
