12Indie Game First Look: Momento Temporis: Light from the Deep: We check out Momento Temporis, a 2D Metroidvania Souls-like, released into Steam Early Access in July 2016, with a full release slated for 29 September 2016.
The Metroidvania style games have been one of my favorite sub-genres, and Momento Temporis does something a little different with the inclusion of a stamina meter for their combat system, hence drawing comparisons to the Souls-borne games.

First Look videos are part of my First Impression series on newish indie games! I enjoy the variety of ideas, concepts and gameplay mechanics that indie developers come up with, and am always on the lookout for the latest and greatest. First Look videos typically involve video footage from the first 20-30 minutes of game with my thoughts on how it plays and the key idea or concept of the game.
Generally speaking, I try not to be overly negative (there's enough of that on the internet!) but if I do have minor gripes and criticisms, you will be sure to hear it!
