The Review:
Judas is an indie horror game from the Studio48 development team and Meridian4 publisher.
The game is set in Russia (I believe) and is obviously a labor of love.
However, between the looping audio, mismatched sound effects, seemingly directionless wandering, the controls being a mess and the occasional bugs and game crashes... I cannot really recommend it.
It's a good effort from the Dev team, making games is hard! But as a consumer I would be really hard pressed to find a reason to recommend this game other than supporting the team that made it.
It feels bad to play, especially when some interactions feel luck based because of the controls and the bugs that may happen (Which you can see in this video).
I don't regret playing it, and am very grateful for the opportunity to try out the game because I got a key... but this is not it for me.
Perhaps the dev team takes the many ideas they had with Judas and build on it in a different game, and I would be really curious with what they come up with if/when they do.
But Judas was, unfortunately not a horror game for me because it lacked...well...horror.
But that's my thoughts, let me know what you think in the comments below!
