Indie review: 2100 Samurai Issue 1 by The Phoenix Press. A good start with room for improvement
In this video I review 2100 Samurai Issue 1 by Phoenix Press.
https://twitter.com/ProjectAxis1
It is like a mix between Samurai jack, Power Rangers Ninja Storm, Red Koi (Alterna) and Star Wars the Clone Wars (2D not 3D).
Spoiler alert and small synopsis:
Two Samurai named Kiro and Myshi are sent to the year 2100 to retrieve an artifact or something. But they end up dealing with an evil corporation named Ensnar that will probably play a bigger role in the future. Or at least I hope, because I wan to know the reason for their existence.
And things go South pretty fast.
Personally I like the setup and intro.
The cover is good. Well designed.
Story writing is good for an intro story.
The art style within the book is pretty simplistic. Not too overcomplicated. in simplicity lies a hidden gem.
But Imho. There needs to be a better balance between the cover art and the art within the book itself.
Final verdict:
Story writing: 80/100
Art: 70/100
Cover art: 80/100
Character design: 70/100
Overall: 73/100. A Good start with room for improvement.
