Indigenous Historical Baths
Sitting on a plateau of tufa rock above, a treasured legacy of our history, sits the “Historical Bathhouses”.
This is one of the first buildings erected at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, to facilitate the use of the natural rock pools of hot mineral water.
These baths were very popular among the Indigenous people and early settlers, including explorer David Thompson.
Above the stone bathhouses are several shallow tubs carved out of to the tufa rock. There are breathtaking views of the Columbia Valley from this plateau.
