I’ve always been a sucker for puzzles and puzzle games. I absolutely loved The Room VR, and it got me really excited about the prospect of future mixed reality puzzlers that could fully take advantage of my home space. Like my own personal escape room that I can hop into anytime I’d like while still being grounded in reality. Enter Infinite Inside, a new puzzle game out now on a wide variety of headsets, from the team over at Maze Theory.

When the enigmatic ancient artifact known as the 'Plinth' mysteriously appears in your home, it opens a portal to a tranquil, dream-like world, filled with impossible architecture and hidden secrets waiting to be discovered. Guided by the echoes of past explorers, you will collect shards, solve three-dimensional puzzles, and assemble keys to unlock the mysteries of a secret society committed to maintaining the balance of Order and Chaos.

Infinite Inside seamlessly blends both VR and MR gameplay when playing on Quest 3, Pico 4, or Apple Vision Pro and it is also a great VR puzzle game when playing on Steam or PlayStation VR2. Escape into 5 peaceful and relaxing labyrinths filled with mysteries for you to solve. Use your hands to manipulate 3D objects and interact with the environment, engage in a deep and captivating narrative through environmental storytelling, get lost in the fantastic 3D audio and sound design.

I had a great time with the content, it’s not extremely demanding, the world has a very relaxed and calming vibe, and overall I had very little issues manipulating the environment and objects as intended. I played with just my hands and they do have a gesture based turning system that I couldn’t really figure out all that well, but once I made it past the initial splash screen I was able to move freely by just turning around in my space. The visual quality was great on the Quest 3, so I can only assume it looks even better on more premium headsets. Everything is told through environmental storytelling, so there’s none of those blockers that lock you in place and break immersion, the tale unfolds around you, and I fully enjoyed my hours spent in this world, I just wish I could have stayed a bit longer.
