INMOST - Demo (The Steam Summer Festival)
2A look at the demo for Inmost, as part of The Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition.
This game took me completely by surprise. It's a pixel animated 2D puzzle-platformer "Metroidvania" with distinct horror elements. I wouldn't personally call this a "horror game", but it's certainly trying to evoke a feeling of dread and creepiness. The pixel animations are some of the best I've ever seen. I'm blown away by the detail in all the tiniest of animations, and how fluid and reactive they are to every single little thing that happens. That alone would be enough to be excited for this game, but it also has a lot of tricks up its sleeve, with twists and gameplay turns I didn't expect in the slightest. I really cannot wait for this to be released to see what else it has in store.
The game started out feeling very quiet, so I ended up raising the volume, but I think I might've went overboard and made it a bit too loud. Sorry about that.
