Input Lag Explained in 60 Seconds
92Input lag is the time it takes for an action you do, like clicking your mouse to fire a gun in a game, to you seeing that gun fire on your screen. The shorter that time is, the quicker you can act and the more responsive your game will feel. Input lag is changed by settings, what game you’re playing, your monitor, system and peripherals like mice and keyboards. If your phone has a slow mo mode - ideally the 960FPS mode - you can actually measure how long your input lag is. Film you smacking an input like left click, and have your screen in frame too. Then you can count how many slow motion frames it takes for that input to show up. At 960 FPS, each slow mo frame is roughly 1ms, so if it takes 30 slow mo frames, it took around 30ms. I mean it actually took 31.25ms, but it gives you a rough idea.
