Insta360 has unveiled its latest line of action cameras, introducing the Insta360 Ace and the more premium Insta360 Ace Pro. These additions to their lineup offer advanced features that rival the likes of the DJI OSMO Action 4 and GoPro Hero Black 12. Despite their similarities, the two models boast a few distinct differences.
In appearance, both the Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro have the familiar form factor of compact, rectangular action cameras. Ace Pro, although slightly larger than its counterpart, is equipped with a 2.4-inch touch-sensitive flip-up display. Both devices are water-resistant to 10 meters, which can be extended to 60 meters with a diving kit, and feature a magnetic attachment system for quick accessory changes.
Under the hood, the cameras are equipped with Leica sensors with a focal length of 16 mm. While the Ace features a 1/2-inch sensor with f/2.4 aperture, the Ace Pro boasts a 1/1.3-inch sensor with f/2.6 aperture. Video capabilities range from 6K at 30fps for the Ace to 8K at 24fps for the Ace Pro, with support for 4K video recording at 120fps and 48MP photo capture. In addition, they offer gesture and voice video control, as well as a statistics panel function.
Prices start at $449.99 for the Insta360 Ace and $546.99 for the Pro model. Various kits are available, such as Creator Kit, Motorcycle Kit, Cycling Kit and others, which cost up to $686. These cameras are available at select retailers, Amazon, and the official Insta360 website.
