My vintage MacBook Pro is natively stuck on High Sierra, which is so old now that it's difficult to get anything done on it. To keep it useful for a few more years, I've tried my hand at using the OpenCore Legacy Patcher. Countless days and hours later, and several million messages like this, I now have it working really well again with a more recent version of macOS!

I've also tried getting Sonoma to run, but performance is so bad that I think I'll stick with Monterey. I've tried Ventura a few times (that's the version after Monterey and before Sonoma), but it didn't install properly. I think it all comes down to the exact brand of memory stick, patience and moon phase at this point.
