Intel i7 8700k & GTX 1080 Benchmarks
2Some Benchmark results for my Intel i7 8700K and my GTX 1080. I shot these videos a couple weeks ago when I finished my computer upgrade. At the start of the videos the 4.8ghz was achieved with Intel Extreme tuning, but later I went back to stock and just used the one click OC in the bios which OC's to 4.5ghz.
The benchmarks do not reflect what I normally run. I normally run 4.5ghz on CPU and 2050-2088mhz on the GPU. In the video I hit 4.8ghz on the CPU and 2100+mhz on the GPU. At the end of the video, I turn down the OC on the CPU and focus mostly on the GPU. If you make it past the music, I have some voice commentary going over a bunch of stuff.
I have an MSI z370 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard with an Intel i7 8700K CPU and an MSI 1080 Seahawk EK X GPU. It's all cooled with a custom loop fed from an EK D5 pump with 2 Alpha Cool radiators (240 and 360 in size). The CPU has a one click overclock via the MSI bios and the fans & pump are also running and tuned via MSI's bios as well. They really have always had an amazing bios. I've been using and praising the MSI bios since I was 10 years old and I'm 35 now. I have 16GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM and the RAM is clocked at 3200mhz, also done using a one click button via the MSI bios, do you seen a trend here? The only thing that isn't easy OC'd is the GPU. GPU is tuned and OC'd using Afterburner. It hits 2100+mhz in the video, but I run it around 2088mhz (boost) normally. Base it sits around 1850mhz.
I meant to put this at the end of my build video but there's so much footage to go through and I haven't gotten around to editing it. I get a bunch of questions on my setup and I've gotten a few haters/doubters who questioned my setup back when I was running the i7 4790k and there was a video about that too. i7 8700K is not the newest or best chip by the way... it's not even 8 cores... so no need to throw shade.
