At Intel's InnovatiON event 2021, Intel finally gave us more details on Intel XeSS upsampling technology, alongside Intel Arc Alchemist and Alder Lake. Intel XESS is machine learning based, similar to Nvidia's DLSS. In this analysis, we examine Intel XeSS, how it works and how the visual quality and performance improvements compare to both DLSS and AMD's FSR / FidelityFX Super Resolution. So far, Intel XeSS resolution upscaling looks AMAZING, and seems to offer real competition in graphics quality and frame rate improvements when compared to Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR.
