Here we have tried to answer the question Who Is The DJinn, shown in the trailer of Assassin's Creed Mirage. We all have seen the cinematic trailer of assassin's creed mirage and the Jin of AC Mirage was shown at the end of it. Perhaps this is one of the qualities of the DJins. Since we have seen him in the trailer we wish to know more about him.
One of the most dominant narratives about the mysterious creature rising at the end of the Assassin's Creed Mirage Trailer is that he is actually the embodiment of Loki taking over Basim and becoming one with him. This narrative was held by the majority of the people however this might actually not be the case. As affirmed by the narrative director of Mirage Sarah Beaulieu this theory is incorrect and it seems from her tweet that the Jin of assassin's creed mirage is not even evil and is a good friend.
So who actually is the Djinn. One thing confirmed by the creative director is that the creature shown at the end is a JINI and we call him JIN in Arabic. Since Assassin's creed mirage is set in 9th century Baghdad with its Islamic roots let us see what Djin means according to Islamic scriptures.
According to muslim beliefs a DJIN is a creature invisible to human eye and made of fire instead of mud. Despite being so different in creation they have many similarities to human beings like raising families, having emotions, eating, sleeping and being good as well as evil. The Djin are much more powerful than human being but according to muslim beliefs the DJin are afraid of the faithful. They can fly and can also captivate a human mind and this is where the belief locky being the Djinn has originated from. The Djinn can see a human but we cannot see them, they are not allowed to reveal their world to us and that is one of the reasons why the creature reveals itself in very rare circumstances. The Djinn can also take the form of animals and humans when they need to. According to Islamic scriptures some people even used to worship the DJIN and this is denounced in the muslim beliefs.
Coming back to Assassin's Creed we know from Assassin's Creed Valhalla that Basim Ibn Ishaq is almost fully dominated by Loki with some scenes where his own compassion takes over. In mirage however Basim is yet to be influenced by Loki however our protagonist is struggling with his own inner daemons and that is where that Djin comes into picture. The Djinn will appear in the dark realm every time Basim kills a high profile target and it would be like one more step into the dark world of the DJINN and this is all happening inside the mind of Basim as he to some extent knows the realm he is entering and there is an inner conflict between the good and the bad within him.
Those aware of the Djinn phenomenon would know that they don't appear out of nowhere one day while one is having a walk in the park. The Djinn have their own way and they show many different signs of their presence and test their target before actually appearing before them. The same may happen with Basim Ibn Ishaq too in the initial phase of the game the memory fragment will be weaker and the Djinn may not appear as clearly. While Basim continues to assassinate he loses a part of his soul and the Djinn takes over it resulting in stronger memory fragments and even darker realms.
In the fight of good and evil one knows where Loki stands and You might be wondering where the earlier discussion connects with Loki and in our opinion since the Djinn are considered to be dark and evil beings with their leader being the satan and human are mostly consider good (well you might want to differ here). By following the wishes of Djin and becoming friends with him, Basim is actually walking towards Loki himself and it may become easier for Loki to take over his soul.
