This is Mike's Monsters.

A new channel from portrait photographer and visual artist, Mike Monaghan.

In his early days of photography, he would practice his skills by photographing his collection of toys and high quality figures. By doing this, he taught himself how to understand composition, lighting and basic camera skills. The goal was always to make the toys look like the actual creatures in the films they came from. Eventually finding a creative style that he applies to his professional work to this day.

Featuring the likes of Godzilla, King Kong, Alien, Predator and so much more. Learn photography techniques with Mike as he experiments with is camera and toys in the behind the scenes videos he shares here on Youtube.

In this introductory video you'll meet the guy behind the camera, and some of what inspires him. Featuring DIY photography tips and demonstrated on the NECA Toys Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990.
