This was my first session with the game on Normal Mode, unedited. Been blazing through for the most part, only having to continue a few times after exhausting all lives. When I did continue I beat a stage on that second attempt. Only 3 stages left so I should have a full playthrough up soon.
Good Contra style game. You have 16 lives on normal mode with no checkpoints in the stages. You have to complete a stage on those 16 lives but you can continue infinitely from the beginning of whatever stage you got to. It unlocks them in the stage select menu on the title screen, so thats how it saves progress.
The game didnt boot up in the Yuzu emulator but worked fine on Ryujinx. I didnt install the update, but it seems to run fine without it. I used a Flydigi Apex 4 controller for the first 3 stages, but switched over to the 8bitdo M30 as that d-pad works best for me, for most 2D games. I had some issues with going prone quickly on the Apex controller.
