Skyrim, just like Oblivion, has an alchemy system. It is done a little bit differently than Oblivion does.

Skyrim makes you use Alchemy Labs to make potions. They are in many different spots, so its pretty easy to always have access to one. Using ingredients and finding out what they do is more challenging than Oblivion, and that is where the meat of Skyrim's alchemy lies.
