2,779The Type 052B (NATO reporting name: Luyang-class) destroyer is a class of multi-role warships in the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). They were among the first PLAN warships to be equipped with a modern multifunction phased array radar, an essential component for the effective use of modern long-range air defense missiles. The design represents a significant improvement over previous Chinese surface combatants and incorporates many features reflecting contemporary naval architecture.

Air Defense Missiles: Equipped with the HQ-9 long-range air defense missile system, comparable to the Russian S-300 and American SM-2 systems.
