I think Duolingo is good when it comes to present perfect tense. However, when it comes to the past tense, things get a little bit complicated. The past tense is not easy, and you have to learn in other places. For instance, you can search the tense on Youtube and watch a tutorial. You will learn a lot. So, do not limit yourself to Duolingo only. The internet is open and you can learn at other places.
