Is FASTER DDR5 RAM Worth It For Gaming? - Watch This BEFORE You Buy!
294With the pricing of DDR5 dramatically dropping, higher frequency kits being more widely available, and modern platforms utilizing it, a question that I’m often seeing is whether faster DDR5 ram is worth it for gaming. I decided to take 4 different configurations across accessible speeds for most users to see how much benefit you get from using faster ram but along with that the effects of using tuned memory with lower timings for lower latency. The results I attained from benchmarking 20 games will show you that its not always about using the fastest ram you can get, but what also matters is having lower timings. Also another important thing to remember is AS OF NOW, using higher frequency memory (7000+) is difficult for a lot of set ups due to compatibility, silicon lotter, etc. Though after seeing the benchmarks you should be able to find a target set up which will suit your needs.
