151Sony confirmed there will be no major first party games till march 2025
Specifically naming major franchises like marvel’s spider-man and god of war
Sony is expecting not to hit it’s ps5 sales goals so the ps5 is flagged as in the later stage of it’s life cycle
This is expected as playstation console generations lasted 6 to 7 years
Sony’s president Hiroki Totoki said hardware will still be a focus for playstation but they will be more aggressive with a pc releases when it comes to software
So when we eventually get the next big first party ps5 game next year expect it to come to pc shortly after or a day one release like helldivers 2
It’s no secret the triple-a bubble has burst with all the layoffs seen this past year, ending console exclusives means more software sales means not having to layoff thousands of people after every game release
Rumors are we’ll see another astro’s playroom this year
At least 2022 and 23 were good years for first party games, but now we have to wait till 2025, and by then well
