IS THE #RTX 5060 WORTH IT? 1080P Benchmarks & DLSS, Ray Tracing & FG (Fixed)
We're reuploading this because there were a few screw ups in the original upload during editing, basically we were rushing trying to get the content out; and I was sending footage over live to Amy to edit.
We checked the sequence and basically it was fine, but as things were copied over to a new final sequence there must have been a screw up and some clips / effects got mixed-up with an earlier editing sequence hence some errors. No excuses - it got screwed up and it was so late UK time we didn't notice it until the next morning. We'll try and do better - but to make up for it, I've included a few extra benchmarks and also added a few tests for the RTX 3060 Ti too.
Nvidia have released the GeForce RTX 5060, and it's bound to be one of, if not the best selling cards in the Blackwell lineup. The RTX 5060 features 3840 CUDA CORES, 8GB GDDR7 memory on a 128-bit bus and of course, supports the latest features such as DLSS and Multi Frame Generation, Ray Tracing and has an MSRP of $299 USD.
In this video, I'll be taking a look at several key titles: Doom The Dark Ages, Cyberpunk 2077, Half Life 2 RTX, Dead Space, God Of War and of course several synthetic benchmarks like Fire Strike, Timespy and port royal focusing on the key 1080P resolution which will likely be the display most folks will want to pair this card with.
Testing the card with and without ray tracing, multi frame generation and various DLSS settings and it's surprising. Doom Dark Ages, with the settings cranked to highest and DLSS set to DLAA at 1080P, generally will hover close to (or beat) 60FPS, with frame generation enabled and DLSS set to balanced, frame rates close in at 130-160FPS, providing super smooth gameplay. God of War Ragnorak is even better, with 1080P DLAA at max close to 90FPS, and the RTX 5060 does a great job in other games too.
Unfortunately, RE4 does stutter a little with 8GB textures, but with 6GB the punishing early village seige section plays very well with all other settings maxed out at 1080P with no FSR or other upscaling used.
The RTX 5060 is not groundbreaking in the same way of say, Nvidia's own GTX 1060 or AMD's Polaris based RX 480/580, and yes, more VRAM would have been excellent; but with this all said, it will doubtlessly sell well.
I'll do more testing of the RTX 5060 soon.
