Blockstar VR is a fast sci-fi action adventure game, where we are a contestant in a futuristic tournament game show. Not just any game show, the number 1 game show in the solar system. We are competing to become a superstar. The game is an adrenaline pumping, reflex testing FPS. Where we will be blasting and dodging blocks. Sounds simple, but these blocks move fast, and your have to be faster and have an aim to match.
Β The game world starts you off in your room aboard the Blockstar station, from there you will select one of 40 possible missions to play. Each mission is played in a Beat Saber type of environment, where the goal is to live and score 3 stars to achieve fame and unlocks. With the 40 missions and getting 3 stars on each, you would think that is enough for replay, but they added more. You will also unlock new weapons, power ups, and unique items for your room. The environments look and sound great, making you feel like you are on a game show in a sci-fi movie. The game world made me think of the sci-fi movie the Running Man.
The controls are excellent. You can move by the control sticks or using room scaling. The weapon handling is dead on and has easy reload, which is needed for this speed of a game. You will have to move and aim quickly in order to move on to the next round, and become the superstar.
