It's Time to Break Up with Short Form Content
170I'm back one last time to talk about my distaste with YouTube Shorts, and other short-form vertical content like TikTok and Instagram Reels. Back in May 2024, I deleted my shorts off this platform but I've noticed a ton of changes both for the good and for the very, very bad. This episode of Watersurf's Side Tangent covers all of those things ranging from the influx of viewers coming to YouTube after the "TikTok Ban," all the way to the massive amounts of spam channels and/or the AI slop content. Lastly, this video does have a perspective from both a creator (myself) and a viewer. It's mainly just how I feel toward short-form content but covering some of the things I've heard from fellow creators and other viewers online. The biggest thing to take away from this is to just to consume/create them in a healthy manner. Oh yeah, react bot is in this. He's a real trooper! JJJacksfilms viewers unite! Throw your shorts…right in the trash and report the spam!
