Jackie Chan in Fists of Fire - Classic Arcade Fighting Game!
3Fists of Fire was an update to Kaneko's earlier martial arts themed arcade fighting title, Jackie Chan The Kung-Fu Master! The updated version featured better fighting mechanics, new fighting maneuvers, and the ability to play as all 3 variations of Chan right from the start of the game. In the previous version, Kung-Fu Master, you had to beat several battles against the alternate opponents in order to unlock each variation of Chan.
In Fists of Fire, developers made use of digitized images in the form of real human actors, including all 3 variations of Chan that are depicted in the game. The use of real human actors in games was often sought by developers who wanted to depict realism in the games they created.
The developers at Kaneko really improved upon the digitized imagery efforts seen in other classic arcade fighting titles, like those of games like Atari's Pit Fighter, Midway's Mortal Kombat, and even Street Fighter The Movie Arcade.
