Hello, I am Jakob!
"hh" is my second solo album released in 2016. I was born in 1992, Häädemeeste, Estonia, and I am a composer and multi-instrumentalist making music in many styles and genres, mainly because of everyday work in theatres as a sounddesigner. I've happened to compose stuff from ambient piano-work to black metal (browse bandcamp for examples), but my solo-albums have their roots in prog and jazzrock with a touch of pop, folk and experimental electronic music.
"hh" deals with a fantasy of surrealism in music- paired and opposed are black and white, warm and cool, reality and fiction, a-side and b-side, vocals and instruments, summer and winter, Carlos and Morricone, Bush and Mitchell, slow and fast, natural and synthetic, real and fake, serious and silly, Ilmar Laaban and folk-poetry, surreal and surreal, old and new (young), easy and complex, silence and violence.
The album is in Estonian, but here are the translations (quite unpoetic and silly in english) of the titles:
