Around 20 minutes to beat as shown in this unedited playthrough. I lost a few continues. The main thing to remember is to mash up and A for all the boss battles (paper, rock , scissors battles). This usually breaks through eventually, I found. You can do these battles in some of the optional doors to earn some extra time (life). When time runs out you die, but seem to have infinite continues. For the final stage collecting fruit will damage you and deplete the time meter. Avoid touching those and try to win in the 2 bonus doors. That should make it easy to get to the final boss, then repeat the boss kill technique mentioned.
