Japan Trip 2018 - Day 2 - Tokyo DisneyLand
Day 2 of our trip and we check out Tokyo DisneyLand on a wet and cold day.
We came across Donald Duck, Goofy and Fantastic Mr. Fox on our way through the World Bazaar.
Tomorrowland
The Stitch Encounter is a funny theater encounter where you sit in the audience and interact with Stitch on the screen like a movie. Unfortunately it was all in Japanese and I happened to get asked what my name was. I had an inkling that Stitch was asking my name so I kind of hesitated when I said my name very slowly as in Kev-in. Stitch took that as a chance to tease me in front of the whole audience multiple times which ended up being quite funny.
Buzz LightYears Astro Blasters was an interactive rail ride where you board a space cruiser and blast away at the evil Emperor Zorg and his minions. The aim is to shoot the orange targets with a laser gun to increase your score. I think I did pretty well after figuring out what to do and I ended up on Level 3 with a score of 20,100.
Toontown
Goofy's Paint N Play House was a good attraction for the kids. You go into Goofy's house and use virtual paint applicators to help redecorate the room.
Gadget’s Go Coaster was a quick and fun roller coaster ride that was exciting but not too scary so it was okay for the young kids but not for toddlers.
After having a bit of a break I did a bit of people-watching and noticed the amazing similarity of what people were wearing at DisneyLand. It seems to be a common theme to co-ordinate your clothes with your friends on the day and dress up like each other. Something that you would never see here in Australia.
Fantasyland
As the day went on, the wait for the rides became longer and longer. Snow White’s Adventures was a mine cart ride set in a dark forest where a witch lurks.
Peter Pan’s Flight was a ridiculous wait of nearly an hour or so. You get to fly on a pirate ship to Never Land.
We headed back towards Tomorrowland and tried the Monsters Inc. Ride & Go Seek! Attraction where you board a tram and search for funny monsters with a torch to try and light up and set off the sensors. No points scoring this time unfortunately but still fun in any case.
At the Showbase we checked out a performance by Mickey and all the famous Disney characters in a fast paced stage show.
We tried to be organised and lined up for some Fast Pass tickets to Pooh’s Hunny Hunt which we came back to do at the end of the day. A cool immersive ride where you sit in a remotely controlled honey pot and search for honey with others.
Last but not least was the Electric Parade DreamLights. We sat down with the crowd and witnessed these awesome light up floats themed on famous Disney characters and more. There were characters such as Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, the Genie from Aladdin and more.
