The manufacturer of audio accessories JBL demonstrated its new smart speakers with support for Alexa and Google Assistant. New smart speakers under the JBL Authentics brand are the first smart speakers from Harman that simultaneously support two voice assistants.
JBL's new retro-styled smart speakers are among the impressive products announced by JBL at IFA 2023 in Berlin. The JBL Authentics 200, portable Authentics 300, and Authentics 500 range in price from $329.99 to $699.99. You can use any of the assistants intermittently without any lag, which is great. Note that the latest Sonos speakers do not have such support for a dual voice assistant.
The integration of Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa in JBL Authentics smart speakers is impressive. The development trajectory of Google and Amazon has been one of the toughest in the world. So the new speakers may mark a departure from the two tech giants' previous stance of not cooperating. The integration of two independent voice assistants takes place using the Multi-Agent Experience (MAX) toolkit. Smart speakers are equipped with sound focusing software that prevents both assistants from speaking at the same time. The speakers offer premium functionality including Dolby Atmos, Bluetooth, Ethernet and Wi-Fi.
Combining the dual functionality of Alexa and Google Assistant in the Authentics column means easier integration in families with multiple assistants. JBL Authentics smart speakers will be available in Europe on September 15, and in America on September 17. The new speakers can be purchased on the JBL.com website, and later they will appear in other retail outlets.
