J.C.Staffers On The Anime Industry Circa 2004
811Reading this article about J.C.Staff from 2004, I couldn't shake the feeling that these staffers would say the exact same things if questioned today. Their concerns about the industry have persisted, if not been exacerbated; their predictions of 10 years in the future have started to come true, but would probably still seem 10 years off if asked today; and some of their hopes for anime to remain interesting, and for more shows to occupy the space between "art" and "entertainment," have definitely been fulfilled.
J.C.Staff itself has seemingly remained like a rock in the industry; the kinds of works that they do now are pretty much the same as the type they were doing in 2004, only with an even higher average level of quality, and twice the rate of production. In some ways, it feels like nothing has changed in 12 years.
