Well, the hives didn’t fare very well this year. One hive died out early because the queen was only laying drones. The flow hive flow frames were ignored by the bees again this year just like the first year. Not sure why the second year went well, but we’re one for three so far with the flow hive. The Layens hive that was thriving appears to have absconded, perhaps over harassed by wasps? Either way we will rebuild and come up with some ideas for next year… While also looking at possibly making maple syrup late winter!
