Today we climb Mount Takao in Hajioji city, in the west of Tokyo. It's 599 meters high and being a mountain the pocket wifi signal was sketchy at the best of times.
Despite having two mechanical methods of climbing up the steepest part (a chair lift and a cable car), we walk up the whole thing. Along the way we drink a bottle of Aquarius, eat a fantastic grape-vinegar ice cream, have a beer on top of the mountain and eat some sliced cucumber with Miso, and eat a delicious Tenguyaki ... you'd be forgiven for thinking it was an eating trip, especially as there's a beer garden area on the mountain!
In this video you'll see lots of greenery, wonderous views, temples and shrines, and a little dog named Sora who doesn't like children.
