Jive and Wail Around the Clock
I almost made a terrible mistake. I had three songs I wanted to mix together, but decided that the three together were too noisy. So I took my two faves and decided I would blend them instead but - nope. Turns out one of my biases was keeping the matchup from being completed, Initially you could have named George Thorogood in this mix, but sadly I could only blend a couple of parts. However (Sorry George) cutting George out all together and returning to the other two, Bill Haley and Louis Prima, I found myself having - not only an easier time, but my sound is cleaner and thus more fun. (Sorry George) Initially had rejected George Thorogood Move it on over and Jump Jive and Wail because it was too easy, but it wasn't until I sang Bill and Louis in my head, that I knew i'd picked the wrong song trying to go for more modern boom. After 5 days I realized George was holding me back and now......This is a fantastic matchup, and it was so easy it was done in three hours. The songs are from 1955 and 1956, (the years my parents were born) so it doesn't really take advantage of modern stereos. HAHA - me and my buddy JF have been at each others throats in terms of what are acceptable fqcy's and while I almost jumped him in on the challenge of trying to get the rejected version going, I'm glad he doesn't have to face the challenge of keeping the high fqcy's in check on these. While it did need drastic cleanup compression, (meaning it is a matchup and remaster at the same time) it didn't need fqcy's sacrificed for overall volume because these old tracks - again - won't really take advantage of your subs and 3D surround setups. I don't know about you guys but when everything matches so perfectly it really tickles - especially if you know both songs and well...You are the dorkiest dork dork dork if you don't know both of these songs. Scientolomorm vacation bible school cult level if you don't know these songs!!!!
