Joe Plays Dungeon Lords (Part Eight)
0Okay, a few things about this video. First, I'm aware that the framerate is awful. I made the mistake of updating OBS to the latest version and for whatever reason it runs like garbage now. I'll get it sorted out before I record anything else.
Second, there's a couple of moments in here where I mute my audio and play some lovely music (found at www.bensound.com if you're interested). This was because my dogs were, as ever, being obnoxious and I thought it would be less jarring than cutting chunks out of the video.
Finally, some thoughts on Dungeon Lords. I really tried with this one, because I love the concept. The game was pushing all the right buttons for me - free reign over character development; a huge world packed full of interesting side quests and quirky characters; fun gameplay and deep mechanics; it really is the whole package. But I really can't keep playing a game which freezes for two seconds every time it loads new enemies; is absolutely riddled with bugs and animation glitches; and worst of all crashes at LEAST twice per hour-long session. Apparently, a Steam update was supposed to have fixed a lot of this, but it sure doesn't seem that way. So I'm leaving this game for a bit. I might work up the enthusiasm to try again at some point, but this is the last DL video for a while. Sorry.
