Okay this is the last of Joe's Family Passion for Cars in this series for now until the A9X Torana and the Cobra Cortina are finished.

We are here to check out this Emotional build restoration for Joe, which is a HQ Monaro Replica that was done exactly to his Uncle Vince's Monaro before he passed away.

When Joe first got this HQ Sedan, WOW Colorfully is an understatement. Joe wanted to rebuild i new car and his wife suggest to do a replica of his Uncle Vince Monaro, so they advertised in the Quokka (no longer going but was soo good), wanted HQ Monaro with V8. He got a response from a seller saying that he had one and come check it out. So he did and when the cover was taking off the car, Joe nearly fell over. His wife basically said, "Your seriously not got going to this one".

As you see from the photos on the wall (sorry for the glass glare) the HQ Sedan was in multiple colours. Joe saw through the cosmetics of the HQ and saw that it had the right ingredients with a 308 engine, Turbo 400 gearbox and 10 bolt diff. So he brought it and it what you see today.

This HQ Monaro is running a restored 308 Engine with turbo 400 and 10 bolt diff which is exactly like his Uncle Vince's Monaro and he was even so lucky as to get the original number plates from the Department of Transport to match the HQ he had. Once the HQ Monaro was fully restored, he present vehicle to his other Uncles and his Mother. They thought that he had found the original car their brother had. So it was quite emotional day for all.

The HQ Monaro is painted in Tangerine with O Lone Ranger stripes as per the original holden GTS specifications, with GTS wheels and the GTS dash to match as well. This car is driven not hidden and its 10 years after restoration.

Joe will be displaying this HQ Monaro at the GM Owners Day on the 13th November 2022 at 10am on the Medina Oval, Medina WA. So if you are in the area, go see Joe and say hi. It will be a stunning Monaro on display.
