This news is about a month old, but I just found out about it on Wednesday which is when I made this video. Maybe I'm alone in being so excited about this, but I just feel like it's a huge sign of the future that awaits us all. Yes, it's true, John Green is in that list as an author because of his widely popular novel The Fault In Our Stars, but that book would not have garnered the momentum it did without the support of all the Nerdfighters who bought the book when it was still in pre-sale. And yes he's there as an author, but being an author doesn't take away all the hours he has dedicated into Youtube and other projects. All of that has led to this, and it's only the beginning. As other Youtubers begin to get book deals, casted in TV shows, signed for movies, and even simply receiving massive viewership on Youtube, I see it as the start of a blooming period that's gonna change the entertainment industry as we know it. The lines between "real" celebrity and "web/Youtube" celebrity are gonna be non-existent, and they're already starting to blur. And one advantage Youtubers have is how connected to our supporters we are. I think this will be the start and then it will transition into blurring the lines of where content is released. We've seen some of that with Netflix being so successful with House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, but I think we'll be seeing a lot more of that, and not just exclusively in places like Netflix or Amazon.

But enough of what I think will go down in the not too distant, yet not so near future. Let's rejoice in the present success of John Green, who is half of the Vlogbrothers, and co-creator of Vidcon. Also, aside from writing TFiOS, he also wrote the successful YA novels Looking For Alaska, An Abundance Of Katherines, and Paper Towns, for which he's executive producing a movie. Now I know this isn't a competition, but I find it inspiring that a Youtuber I admire made more money than TV stars I admire. Breaking Bad is my favorite TV series by far, and I love Bryan Cranston for the performance he gave us. And while Breaking Bad did end before June 2013, he's still receiving money from it, and he also received a paycheck from the successful blockbuster movie Godzilla. Zooey Deschanel on the other hand is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood right now, and I genuinely love her quirky way of acting, plus it doesn't hurt that she's like the angel to evil twin Katy Perry. She's a household name, with some very successful movies on her back, and starting the 4th season of New Girl soon, so I find it extremely impressive that John Green not only ranked higher than her in the Celebrity 100 list, but actually made $3M dollars more than she did. Speaking of which, let me just point out some of the people who ranked lower than John Green: Kim Kardashian, Amy Adams, Stephen King, Dr. Phil, JK Rowling, Seth MacFarlane, Bryan Cranston, Jon Hamm, Gwyneth Paltrow, Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington, Veronica Roth (Divergent), Cameron Diaz, Lena Dunham, Kaley Cuoco, Natalie Portman. Not only is it amazing that he is considered one of the top celebrities this year, but he ranked higher than some of the most respected celebrities in the world. Let's hold hands and enjoy this moment. This is a moment of victory, not only for John Green but for all of us. I count myself in there because I want to, okay? Shut up! But seriously, this opens up the door for more web based creators to be taken seriously by those not so internet-focused. This is one small step for John Green, one giant leap for web based content creators. I'm looking forward to watching John Green reach even higher heights, and opening up some more doors. Soon we'll start seeing more Youtubers in lists with Beyonce.

But what do you think? Am I completely overreacting?
