...at least that's what people tell me, and that's both extremely encouraging and very discouraging at the same time. As proven by the view count in this channel, I know how to get views. But there is a big difference in just getting views, and getting viewers that enjoy what you make and keep coming back for more. While I've had a lot more success on that front on my Spanish channels, I still wonder why my growth has been so slow. I have posted videos since the summer of 2008, and after over 1000 videos (dispersed in 6 different channels) I still struggle to maintain a good minimum of views. Like I said, it's much better on the Spanish side of things, but it still seems slow when compared to other channels. I'm not jealous of other channels, but it confuses me how fast some of them grow. The only thing that really makes sense is that my personality is just not as easy to connect to like it is with other people. I truly do feel like there's a big audience out there that would love my videos like some of you do, but the difficulty is finding them and leading them to give my videos a chance. Part of me believes that I just haven't reached greater success because I'm not ready for it, and that once I'm ready, it will come. But sometimes I feel like I'm just lying to myself, fooling myself into thinking that I do have a future in this industry, because it's the only thing that keeps me from giving up. I love doing this, and I would do it for no money...heck, I did it for zero money for years, and while I've had some amazing months in terms of earnings, the majority of my "Youtube career" has been a struggle, and lately just making barely enough. Actually, this month I made LESS than enough. I'm doing a job this weekend to raise my earnings to "barely enough". Like I said, I'd do this for no money, but sadly this world runs on money. If I don't make money I can't pay my bills and the money my parents ask me to help out with every month. I've been making less than what I need to spend the past few months, and using from my savings to keep me from negative numbers. I gave myself until the end of August to start earning at least enough to cover all my monthly spendings, but each month I've been earning progressively less. So last week I started to look for a job. I've been doing Youtube full time for a while now, and for the most part earning less than minimum wage. For now I'm actually gonna continue to work full time on Youtube, because I can't give that up just yet, I'll delay that for as long as possible. I'm gonna start working part time to cover all my monthly expenses. I actually feel blessed on that front because I got a job this weekend that's easy and pays well, and I passed the interview part of an amazing job opportunity, meaning that they're gonna train me and see if I'm a fit for the job. If I get that job I would only have to work on weekends, and I'd be making a lot more than enough. We'll see what happens. I do wanna say THANK YOU to all of you who do keep coming back for more videos, all those who leave comments and keep me motivated. You will never truly understand how much it all means to me, and it pains me that money has to be a thing that matters. I'd like to just entertain you and be paid with your laughter, but sadly that's not an acceptable currency to trade for goods and services. Much love, thank you for your support!!!
So how do you get lots of views? How do you get tons of subscribers? HOW TO GET MANY SUBSCRIBERS?!? HOW TO GET MILLIONS OF VIEWS?!? There are actually many ways to do that, and it's all about capitalizing on trends and optimizing your metadata and thumbnails so that they cater to that. But the complicated part is making something that people actually enjoy watching enough to share with everyone they know and to keep coming back for more. I think the way is by connecting with people, but that's much complicated than it sounds.
