Previously I took a look at the terminal version of Joplin which I use on a daily basis, but this time I've decided to take a look at the GUI version which does provide some interesting extra features which aren't really possible within the terminal application, like a rich text view of the markdown. However, both versions of the application do quite well as alternatives to Evernote if you're willing to drop some of the advanced features, and for me those features were never really appealing in the first place.
