I've been using NERDTree for a little while now and while I have no complaints with it, I have had some people also recommend that I check out netrw, but I'm not sure of the benefits for now. Anyway, NERDTree is a plugin that will provide you with a togglable file treee viewer within Vim, it's not a file manager though so I don't believe you can rename, delete of move any of the files with it.
