How much screen time do you think Black Widow and Hawkeye will get in The Avengers: Age of Ultron? Well, Joss Whedon says that it will be more than last time. As you can imagine, the director was in high demand as last weekends comic con, and he did his best to give us some insight on his plans for Age of Ultron, without giving away too much. One concern that fans had was regarding Hawkeye and Black Widow's involvement in the Avengers sequel. After we heard that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were going to be joining the cast, a lot of people felt like it would take screen time away from two of our favorite spys who didn't get a ton of screen time in the first Avengers, like Hawkeye and Black Widow. But from the way Whedon is making it sound, these two will actually have a bigger role in the sequel. On the topic of Black Widow, Whedon said quote, "Natasha is a huge part of the sequel because you do want to concentrate on the people who don't have their own franchises. Although she in 'Cap 2,' [and] she's great. She was the most fun for me because she's not a hero. These guys are heroes, you are a spy. It's a different thing—it's a different skill set—and you don't have their moral high ground or any of that good stuff.' And that just makes her so interesting to me. So yeah, the stuff I've got going on with her in the second one is killer. But what about Hawkeye? Jeremy Renner played the character in the first Avengers, but made it known afterwards that he was definitely not happy about how Hawkeye's character was portrayed. He told Total Film quote "For 90 percent of the movie, Im not the character I signed on to play. It's kind of a vacancy. He's not even a bad guy, because theres not really a consciousness to him. I was limited, you know what I mean?" Well, Whedon seems excited to explore his character a lot more in Age of Ultron saying quote "Part of the fun for me, definitely this time around, is writing Hawkeye. He did get possessed pretty early by a bad guy and had to walk around all scowly for most of the movie, so now it's nice to actually have the character there and see him interact with the other guys." So, if you were hoping for more Hawkeye and Black Widow, it sounds like you will be pleased with Age of Ultron. But are any of you still skeptical?
