Journey (Full Playthrough)(Blind)(No Commentary)
This game is pretty amazing. There are two things I will criticize, however. First off, of course, is the length. This game is pretty cheap at 15$ and is an hour if you're fast and 2 if you're slow, but still, add on 1,2 or 3 hours and this experience would have been incredibly orgasmic. As it is, it's a neat experiment, but not a fantastic game, unfortunately, with so little playtime.
I really, really like the multiplayer aspect. It's super cool to be able to encounter people and not have to stay with them. It is very possible to lose somebody and be by yourself again. My hat goes off to "RobotsDoItBetter" for they were a good companion indeed. Being able to recharge each other is a thing, and makes having a partner really useful. (It makes me wonder if the game is slower and less fun without a partner, in fact.) And I had fun with the talking button. A lot. As you can tell from the video.
But I will criticize the fact that the game studio decided to only allow online multiplayer. You can't play this game locally, which just sucks. I know WHY they did it, because they wanted to be artsy and have you only play with people you don't know/can't talk to, but from a gameplay standpoint that's just plain stupid.
The gameplay is neat, I like the concept of the entire thing. I love the character design, the visuals, and the MUSIC. MY GODS THE MUSIC.
This entire experience was really cool. And even if it was just an hour and a half, they managed to really make me care about the story and my character. I also really like how well the game is designed. Stuff is really simple to figure out, and it's EXTREMELY intuitive. The mark of a good game is when players figure out how stuff works instantly.
So yeah, overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. I wish they had made the game longer, but for what it was, it was pretty cool. But then, I'm a sucker for artsy games.
