Judge Restores Protections for Grizzlies Near Yelllowstone

A US district judge has returned grizzly bears in eastern Idaho, Wyoming and Montana to federal protection under the Endangered Species Act, in part because climate change is threatening the grizzlys food supply. The ruling will impact about 600 grizzly bears in and around Yellowstone National Park. Judge Donald Molloy cited climate changes devastation to whitebark pine forests, which produce nuts that some grizzlies rely upon as a mainstay.
