Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Explained
744Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel manga to the main series which is 4 chapters long taking place one year before Itadori’s time, focusing on Yuta Okkotsu, the main protagonist of this story. Now I know this will be adapted into a movie later on this year animated by Mappa Studio but I figured screw it, I like the story so lets talk about it! Spoilers synopsis for the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel manga ahead.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga begins with Yuta Okkotsu in a secret execution chamber which interestingly enough, parallels the same way we were introduced to Itadori Yuuji in the anime. Similarly to Yuuji’s scenario, Gojo disagrees with the decision of the higher ups of Jujutsu High to execute Yuta and allows him to become a sorcerer instead. Yuta reveals to Gojo in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 prequel that he may be the one who has cursed Rika instead of Rika cursing him. Gojo tells Yuta he’s believed that “Love manifests the most distorted curses". Determined, Yuta now wants to unravel the mystery behind Rika while attending Jujutsu High. This is where Yuta is introduced to first year students Maki, Panda, and Toge Inumaki. Yes the same characters who are “now” second years in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
Suguru Geto is the main antagonist in Volume 0 of Jujutsu Kaisen manga and when he faces off against Yuta Okkotsu thats when things really kick it into high gear. There is a reason why anime fans of Jujutsu Kaisen will tell you this is considered one of the best fight in the entire series!
