Army cadets in Northumbria have been learning the art of jungle survival in preparation for their overseas departure next month.

Their training involved setting traps, making fire and skinning chickens amongst other things.

It's the first time a Northern cadet force has embarked on anything quite so ambitious.

Our North East reporter, Hannah King, joined them on the wilds of Otterburn training ground.
