Jupiter & Mars, a groundbreaking new video game for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR, will be showcased at the 15th annual Games for Change Festival held this weekend in New York City. The VR title was selected as part of the festival’s XR for Change, devoted to highlighting Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality games with social impact. Jupiter & Mars is an underwater adventure that attempts to give players a deeper appreciation for the oceans and, especially through VR, leave a first-hand impression of the issues of sea level rising, coral bleaching, and plastics in the ocean. The game is being developed in partnership with acclaimed ocean organizations SeaLegacy and The Ocean Foundation

Tigertron is an environmentally-focused video game studio based in New York City developing games inspired by the real-world challenges of today. Jupiter & Mars is the first title from the studio and comes from the producer of Lumines: Electronic Symphony.

Eco-focused video game studio Tigertron today revealed that it will bring its genre-defying PlayStation 4/PSVR game Jupiter & Mars to Europe for the first time, as part of the opening of SeaLegacy’s Turning The Tide exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden. Taking place at Fotografiska in Stockholm, the Turning The Tide exhibit focuses on the work of SeaLegacy, a non-profit organization co-founded by photojournalists Cristina Mittermeier and Paul Nicklen. The motto of this family friendly, awareness raising exhibit is “It is possible to change the playing field and everyone can help out and make a difference.” SeaLegacy draws attention to environmental issues around the world, from climate change, over-fishing, and the decimation of coral reefs, through eye-opening photography, documentaries, and other multimedia.

Tigertron joins SeaLegacy and Fotografiska on July 1, 2018 in Stockholm, by bringing their pioneering video game Jupiter & Mars to the exhibit, allowing players to experience an underwater future world, where two dolphins—Jupiter and Mars—face a post-mankind world where the industrial legacy of humankind still plagues the oceans. With the help of an ancient tribe of whales called The Elders, Jupiter and Mars must find a way to stop this machinery before it’s too late.

ABOUT Tigertron
Tigertron was founded with an environmental ethos in New York City in 2015, bringing two longtime friends and video game veterans together with the aim of developing games inspired by the real-world challenges of today to create fantastic, future worlds of tomorrow.

ABOUT SeaLegacy
SeaLegacy's mission is to create healthy and abundant oceans, for us and for the planet. We use photography to contrast the beauty, productivity and wonder of areas in the ocean that are either pristine or somehow protected, with areas that are under threat and in need of protection.
