Just Some Ordinary Sonic 3 & Knuckles Gameplay

0I was playing Carnival Night as Tails and got through act 1 without any issues, but I played act 2 for two minutes before my game paused on its own. Upon pressing the start button on the controller to unpause it, the game crashed before screen turned purple then completely black. I don't know what caused the crash and black scree, but I know one thing for certain: NONE of my other games have done this.
