To celebrate Godzilla's 50th anniversary, Toho hired Versus, Azumi, and Skyhigh action director Ryuhei Kitamura to direct the big anniversary film that was meant to encompass the 50 year history of Godzilla. As such, it features monsters pulled right out of the Showa era but with updated designs to match the Millennium series. Watch as Godzilla and his brethren take on a group of soldiers with mutant powers, aliens that look like they came right out of The Matrix, and antics that would please Dragon Ball Z fans.
